Description
Here is one of our very popular items over the years which we are happy to have been able to re-stock. A full volume large format, plain paper sketchbook of artist quality 50 lb ivory paper. Perfect for the field artist or lady, but also great size for use as a ledger for the company/HQ books, after action reports, messages, orders, etc. (we have provided this book for several discerning organizations/HQ for that purpose) Measures a full 8 3/4″ x 11 1/2″ and 1″ thick. Plain paper books in a myriad of sizes are by far the most common type of the period. Hard bound, in the same fine classically period cross hatch finished black binding as our plain paper diary and journal. (we have made higher end items with this binding finish for years and continuously looked for it at a more economically reasonable price and are very excited to find these books for you in this classic period finish) Contains 100+ un-bleached ivory, square cut pages. Affixed to the front is the label, done on linen paper, for our signature stationer S.M. Ringwalt of Boiling Springs, Pa., a direct ancestor in the wartime trade and from my hometown. On the back and inside the covers are various combinations of ads which may include portfolio packages, writing boxes, period postage rates, travelling distances, writing and artist supplies, and advertising calendars. Many of the original examples of these plain paper books show evidence of having been saved and used over many years and with multiple users – common adverts and references found pasted in such journals, diaries, sketchbooks, ledgers and other utility books of the period. We vary the combinations of these ads periodically consistent with our commitment to provide a more diverse representation of the exploding material culture of the period for the Living History community. As a result, stock photos of the interiors labels may or may not be exactly the same, or in the same position in the book as what you receive. A great addition to our collection of Living History accessories!
