(a thin leather one could be sewn directly in if so desired, but research shows cloth is historically accurate as well for this type simple cap) The interior is lined in woven checked cotton and is labeled for a documented wartime dealer out of Saint Louis. The color and pattern of the lining will vary based on what we had in stock. A simple true “cap” with the more economic sweatband and visor pattern and a smaller pancake body, low crown without stiffener or form. I have worn one for years around the farm and shop and occasionally in camp.\u00a0 In practice these cloth banded hats have a good bit of give and can be rather easily stretched from 1\/8 to 1\/4 larger size than marked without damage.
