Bone Playing Dice (A19)
Bone Playing Dice (A19)
$15.00
Description
Standard size cut bone playing dice with black dots. (7/16″ to 1/2″) These were commercially manufactured in quantities in the mid 19th century but still handmade and cut so there are some variances giving them great period character. They are not always “perfectly” square, the dots are not always “perfectly” placed, and they are sized together as closely as possible. The fact is being hand made – there is really no two exactly alike. Moderate graining and yellowing from age, maybe a chip here and there and some have one slightly rounded edge – based on the shape of the bone it was cut from – this is the way they typically came in the day – not a modification, etc. An important item in the soldier’s repertoire of recreational diversions. I have a small inventory of period bone playing dice in several different sizes. If you do not see what you want here give me a call. The price is per pair, specify square or bevelled corners if you have a preference – we will accommodate if possible. (CWPG $40-60.00).
