Semmon’s “Pocket” Army Telescope

$24.95

Description

All brass construction three piece small size telescope, often also called the “cavalry” model owing to it’s great portability and ease of deployment. In actuality used by any branch and all ranks desiring the same convenience. (I have inventoried an original example among effects named to an Infantry officer. This example and the box are a copy from that collection) Measures 6″ long extended and a mere 3 1/4″ collapsed, with a 5x lens, fine for close campaign work. Perfect for the pocket, haversack, or pack. Eyepiece and end cap are painted black enamel. Main barrel is covered in high end book cover quality grained leather. Our labeled box is 4″ long enameled and shellacqued heavy fiber cardstock with lining of period Harper’s Weekly newsprint. Documented wartime contracted maker.
