Copied from an original in our collection attributed to a Federal soldier who rose from the ranks to command a Company during the course of the war. The style and design is quite typical of full length examples seen in most references. Measure app 3 3/4″ x 7″. This is the size most popular today as they easily accomodate modern bills, but, most of the cookie-cutter examples today do not have the inner flap. A great number of the originals I have inventoried sported one. Gives an added amount of security and also covers up anachronistic items you do not want readily seen, such as credit cards and driver’s licenses. It also offers a level of quality and authenticity not seen in the run of the mill wallets which are generally made of inferior materials, utilizing much thicker leather than any original I have ever seen. Ours is a superior quality light weight leather finished in period methods with fine edge embossing by our own Mr. Marsh.
