Nice gray and tan mix jean wool civilian pattern notched collared vest with lightly quilted natural cotton lining throughout. Also stamped with size mark. (these coarse jean wool products are made specifically to represent the less refined production of the period and minor weaving anomalies, &c., should be expected) All button holes are neatly hand sewn. Marked for southern pre war and wartime maker N.C. Folger of New Orleans, who advertised as dealing in “Ready Made Clothing” and a myriad of other items, he collectively advertised and described as “Plantation Goods”.  Sports our hand cut and drilled bone vest buttons and adjustment strap in back with sewn on nickeled brass two prong buckle. (these buttons are also specifically produced to represent the smaller production, less refined industry of the period) Two front pockets.
