This blanket is as high of quality as any sold on the market and is perfect for any civilian impression, a southern soldier, federal state or militia issue, or anyone wanting to represent a private purchase blanket.  (I have used one for years) This is the real deal 90% wool, 10% shoddy, 4.5 lbs. blanket, measuring in at appr. 62 x 80″. Color is a brown/gray with a slightly drab shading and the stripes are a nice creamy beige. In my opinion the quality here is comparable to well known reproduction blankets I have used in the field for which I paid over twice this price. (Compares favorably in texture, weight, and color with my state of the art Augie Weisert blanket bought over two decades ago) I really like this blanket which is very similar to several original period civilian blankets we have handled and examined over the years, including this specific stripe pattern. (used for a couple of centuries and copied for use by European military makers) Raw cut ends as were common with utility blankets sold in the period, leaving it for the purchaser to stitch or apply binding as desired. Many were simply left as is. (Note: photo may show an example with blanket stitching applied)
