Description

This is a very, very finely made pocket Diary made in high grade hand dyed thin blue leather with red/maroon muslin backing. Copied from an original in our collection it folds in three with a slip and tongue closure. The outside is both hand tooled and also has the classic fine crosshatch design in the open spaces as seen on the highest grade original examples of the product. (also seen on high grade Testament covers, wallets. etc.) The front flap is stamped and embossed in gold “Diary” exactly like our original. (Beware: Our oil cloth version of this item was purchased at an event by an unscrupulous lout who then copied it and also pirated some of our labels, etc. I have examined his “copy” and it is quite inferior in every aspect – like some of our other fine items – copied but never duplicated) Meticulous detail is evident in this very fine item made for us exclusively by Mr. Marsh. The most common form of these pocket diaries and journals had plain lined paper in them and we have chosen this form in order to make it universally applicable for any purpose regardless of the year being portrayed. In addition we designed it so that it is actually a slip cover and replacement booklets of paper can be inserted when this one is full, making the financial investment in such a fine product much more reasonable as it can have virtually perpetual use. Some of our 150th anniversary stock and a very limited inventory. Due to the labor intensive process we simply cannot say if we will ever make more. If we do – the price will definitely be higher.
