Description

Rich hand dyed indigo blue jean wool civilian pattern notched collared vest with lightly quilted natural cotton lining throughout. Marked for southern pre war and wartime maker D. B. Camp of Savannah, who advertised as dealing in “Ready Made Clothing” and a myriad of other goods.  Also stamped with size mark. Sports our own hand cut bone buttons, made purposely in a simple rural manufacturing style.  Two front pockets. A nice vest with all button holes neatly handsewn. Sewn back strap with brass buckle. (Note: Unlike modern American sizes which are often larger than the actual measurement indicated, the measurement from side seam to side seam at the base of the arm hole is the actual chest size given, there is a taper inward at the high waist about 3-4″ then back out) Although our clothing items have found widespread approval – uniforming and outer clothing is not our primary business and until recently we have restricted sale of such items to over the counter sales at events and at the shop, where the purchaser has the opportunity to try on the item before purchase. We take no orders for clothing to be made. PLEASE disregard modern sizing models when considering a purchase and instead utilize the actual garment measurements provided in the item description, against the actual measurements you wish the clothing item to fit over, prior to purchase.
