Rich hunter green wool civilian pattern notched collared vest with lightly quilted black cotton lining and black cotton back. (Stock photos of lining may be from vests of a different color) Matching cloth covered buttons down the front with all buttonholes hand sewn. Adjustment strap in back with sewn in standard two prong black enameled buckle. Two front pockets. A very nice looking vest any Irishman, Berdan’s man, or Green Mountain Boy would be proud of – also a nice festive holiday piece. Available labeled for documented southern, western federal or northeastern wartime and pre-war makers. (Note: Unlike modern American sizes which are often larger than the actual measurement indicated, the measurement from side seam to side seam at the base of the arm hole is the actual chest size given, there is a taper inward at the high waist about 3-4″ then back out) Although our clothing items have found widespread approval – uniforming and outer clothing is not our primary business and until recently we have restricted sale of such items to over the counter sales at events and at the shop, where the purchaser has the opportunity to try on the item before purchase.
