After a much unexpected delay we are finally able to offer you the latest version of our popular shooting mitten. To the many customers who inquired and have patiently waited for us to get them out we sincerely apologize that is so late in the season but it could not be helped.  As in past versions these are fine well made mittens patterned after the Army shooting mitten prescribed for the period. They are made of knit wool and feature the thumb and trigger finger separated so the user can continue to perform all the tasks required of the soldier whilst keeping the hands protected from the cold. The end of the mitten section is sewn closed by inseam. (NOTE: The mittens are paired in production and tied together with a piece of yarn at the end of the large finger section. The tie is the same color as the mitten so please be very careful when cutting them apart) The appeal for mittens to be made by citizens for the use of soldiers and distributed by the Women’s Central Relief Association indicated any color other than white was acceptable. See period pattern in photos. In this latest version we are offering them in dark blue only as pictured. Knit medium weight wool with some elasticity although made to fit snugly so that dexterity is still possible. They come in a medium and large size – the main difference being length. Comes folded and packaged in our signature period correct style and labelled for a documented midwestern maker and distributor. (this label is proprietary to SoFS) Our highest grade shooting mitten.
