Oval base, open pontil, small to mid-sized bottle. Blown in a hinge mold with tooled lip. C.1850-60. This the typical size and shape for many medical remedies or patent medicine bottles from the CW and pre-war era. It will display very well as glass is very clean and clear with very little cloudiness. CW bottles of any type are getting harder and harder to find and, while by no means exclusive, the OP bottles are the most sought after and as a result becoming fewer and far between. Nice clean non-dug bottle, actually even clearer than the image suggests with glare from the flash. No cracks or chips.
