Description
Gorgeous burnt orange glaze on this solid pottery bottle. Not just a bottle, it is literally a piece of 19th century art. This kind of pottery when made these days goes for $50-100. These heavier finely glazed crockery bottles were typically used for medical and chemical applications. Excellent condition with no chips or cracks. A quite rare find, it even retains the original cork, showing years of use and re-use, as the vessels were typically re-filled from larger stores. Will look great in any medical, apothecary, chemist or photographers display. While the glaze still retains great luster it also has a bit of good age patina. The base, while it has no chips, confirms it’s true age with great patina and character. Can’t say enough about this wonderful bottle, c.1840-60.
