Description

Standard 5 1/2″ lantern candles, just the right size for all camp applications. Printed and tied package includes three long burning pieces. Here is a nice respite from the same tired, worn out label and poorly executed packaging you find at most all the Sutler’s sites. Cheever and Company was a documented wartime maker and selling agent out of Cincinnati, Ohio, typical of sutler store inventories. Some dogma purveyors would have you believe that beeswax candles are it as it relates to authenticity standards. The Army Regulations actually specified issue of Adamantine. (candles made with stearin which were less expensive, a harder finish, burned longer than tallow and looked like these!) This was the common CW era commercially manufactured candle. Go figure. Period label colors may vary from crate to crate. I am sorry but we have had to now limit purchases to four packets per order as we are again experiencing purchases of our consumable products in quantity and reports of them being resold, with our labels and packaging, at a premium by unscrupulous blanket type vendors, depriving our individual living history customers of the opportunities to buy our museum quality items at our reasonable prices. We are not a sutler supplier, we are the sutler. We do not work hard at our research and development on your behalf, while keeping costs as low as we reasonably can, in order to provide our products for the lazy to profit from at your expense.
