Description

A relatively rare item, this example could just as easily date to the late 18th century as the Civil War period. Used by chemists/apothecaries to measure out medicines and various powders for medical applications. Pretty hard to find outside of specific dealers and collector’s sales. Ours came from the latter. (CWPG last listing was in the $65 range) Nicely turned wood handle. Excellent condition and wonderful age patina and color to the wood.
