Description
Here is a fine example of the Civil War era wallet in excellent condition and made a cut above the most common examples. Oxblood colored maroon brown finish to the high grade thin leather outer shell which includes the tongue and both slip straps all intact. So many are blown out or torn, etc. (in a well worn and/or documented used wallet that is fine character giving feature, but seen all to often on more pristine examples like this one where they are a detraction in value) Nice leather veneer edging all still attached as well. One section folds into a nice lined document safe the other half has multiple accordion folded billets, all still intact with virtually no tears or damage. (another rarely found condition) Lining on document section is a rich rose colored polish linen or possibly silk. Interior slip and tongue are also intact and quite sound with clean fine edges. As nice an example of the common style finer made wallets as we have inventoried. Highly documented – pick a reference from our list – such wallets are seen in most all of them. You can likely buy beat up ones at this price but this nice is simply hard to find, seen often 30-40% higher.
