Fingerless Gloves
Fingerless Gloves
Description
Worn by both men and women in many different occupations during the colder months in order to keep hands worm whilst not losing the dexterity necessary to perform tasks and duties at hand. Particularly employed by clerks, nurses, store keepers, sutlers, seamstresses, tailors, &tc. &tc. I wore a pair for years as an orderly sergeant and then also as an adjutant. I also wore them in the ranks when not quite as cold as I found them to offer more versatility in loading my musket and provided better grip when performing the manual of arms. I wear them in the shop now all winter. Ladies wore them for a variety of reasons and in a variety of circumstances as well. Made of 80% wool and 20% cotton, offered in three colors, with turned under crew type wrist. Come wrapped and tied with label for documented period producer. (Please specify in notes northern or southern label or we will choose based on shipping address) NOTE: Blue gloves are a bit thinner and made of finer yarn than the gray or brown. One size fits most.
