Here is the three legged high grade map reader that our popular reproduction is modeled after. Brass optic holder with magnifying lens to read maps and charts with. Comes in a leather case specifically for field use. Brass lens holder has black enamel to cut down on glare similar to field glasses of the period. The cylindrical leather case is sewn construction and closes with a leather tab and nickeled stud. Top of case is maker marked “T. T. & H”. Essential tool for Topographical Engineers, General and Flag Officers and their staffs, at HQ in the field, in garrison or on shipboard. A rather rare find we are happy to have the opportunity to offer. Sometimes seen with the wood or cardstock box but seldom seen with the leather field case. Optics nice and clear with no cracks.
