Magnifier used primarily for map reading but could be used in any application where magnification is required. Glass magnifier is mounted in a wide brass ring which sits on the map and glides easily from point to point. This was a necessary item found in any general headquarters field desk and certainly in the kit of any specific branch having anything to do with maps. Maps from the period had excellent small detail, I have wished I had one of these on more than one occasion in the field at officer’s meetings, etc. Comes protected in a nice hand made period type pasteboard box, lined with marbleized paper, meticulously hand folded wrapped in period style with our period color thin packing paper. Labeled to a documented period maker. Our packaging and label have been attempted to be copied by several unscrupulous and cowardly vendors – but as always, the quality never duplicated!
