(as with basically all modern versions – silk is man made) Made in red, the regulation color for the standard non commissioned officer’s sash, but done in silk as opposed to wool. We have examined documented original examples of this sash and it seems they were privately purchased, especially by senior NCOs such as Sergeants Majors, etc. One we saw was together with a presentation grade NCO sword.
