Here is a vest any Irishman, Berdan’s man, or Green Mountain Boy would be proud of.  Rich dark green wool civilian pattern notched collared vest with black lightly quilted cotton lining in front and black cotton back. Labeled for documented wartime and pre war maker Jno. Hanford Co., Brooklyn and marked with clothier’s size mark. Sports our new handsome and high quality rimmed horn buttons. Adjustment strap in back with sewn in standard two prong buckle in black enameled brass. Two front pockets. A nice vest with all button holes neatly handsewn. This  color wool is a bit more expensive than the average and the vest is priced accordingly. (Note: Unlike modern American sizes which are often larger than the actual measurement indicated, the measurement from side seam to side seam at the base of the arm hole is the actual chest size given, there is a taper inward at the high waist about 3-4″ then back out) Although our clothing items have found widespread approval – uniforming and outer clothing is not our primary business and until recently we have restricted sale of such items to over the counter sales at events and at the shop, where the purchaser has the opportunity to try on the item before purchase. We take no orders for clothing to be made. PLEASE disregard modern sizing models when considering a purchase and instead utilize the actual garment measurements provided in the item description, against the actual measurements you wish the clothing item to fit over, prior to purchase.
