Officers quality tight weave wool civilian pattern notched collared vest with lightly quilted natural cotton lining and white cotton back. Although a civilian pattern and common color for the period for all, federal officers often purchased this vest in lieu of the military pattern vest, and used either the cloth covered buttons or replaced them with the appropriate military brass. Here we have chosen federal issue Infantry Officer’s small pattern “I” buttons.
