Solid color cotton pre-tied bowtie cravat copied from various original examples. The bowtie portion is preset and sewn in place to the cravat neckpiece. The cravat is fully adjustable in size and closes with a faithful reproduction of a period two prong adjustment buckle. Comes complete in a hand crafted and labeled green cardstock box with gold design edging which we have faithfully reproduced, the design copied from an original CW period clothiers shirt box which we examined. It also features our interior paper the exact color of the paper we have found used in the interior of multiple period boxes. Label is of a known and documented wartime and pre-war clothier in Cincinnati. This item is made specifically to represent the common style cotton cravat of the period,  and worn by the far majority of every day people, appropriate for the soldier and officer. (we also sell a black silk version for a step above in fashion class) Certainly there were higher fashion flamboyant examples of the cravat and tie which were evident in the period culture, worn by the elite classes. These items would very rarely be appropriate for the bulk of the population, and even rare among the far, far majority of men in uniform.
