Rich buff wool civilian pattern notched collared vest with lightly quilted black cotton lining and black cotton back.  Our high quality domed coin pattern brass buttons down the front with all buttonholes hand sewn.  Adjustment strap in back with sewn in standard two prong black enameled buckle. Two front pockets. A strikingly handsome soft and comfortable vest. Available labeled for documented southern, western federal or northeastern wartime and pre-war makers. (please specify in comments with order as to which label is preferred or we will mark garment based upon customer’s shipping address) The type and color is appropriate for the civilian or soldier of either side. PLEASE NOTE:  We buy our material in lots and there is some variance from purchase to purchase just as there was in the day. Depending upon availability, the material may not be the exact same weave, shade, etc., as previously purchase items of this color. Weight and quality and color are all basically the same, but do not expect an identical match to an item that may have been previously purchased. (Note: Unlike modern American sizes which are often larger than the actual measurement indicated, the measurement from side seam to side seam at the base of the arm hole is the actual chest size given, there is a taper inward at the high waist about 3-4″ then back out) Although our clothing items have found widespread approval – uniforming and outer clothing is not our primary business and until recently we have restricted sale of such items to over the counter sales at events and at the shop, where the purchaser has the opportunity to try on the item before purchase. We take no orders for clothing to be made. PLEASE disregard modern sizing models when considering a purchase and instead utilize the actual garment measurements provided in the item description, against the actual measurements you wish the clothing item to fit over, prior to purchase.
